Release of Commemorative Stamps on Transport by Department of Posts

The Museum had the privilege of hosting the Department of Posts, India, for the launch of it’s first-ever stamps dedicated to modes of transport. This historic series highlights the evolution of transportation in India through 20 exquisite postage stamps, presented as miniature sheets in a prestige booklet (a first of its kind) and mixed stamp sheet-lets.
The series includes four stamps each on Palanquins, Animal-Driven Carriages and Carts, Rickshaws, Vintage Cars, and a mixed set depicting Public Transport like buses, trams, and metros. Remarkably, over 15 of these stamps are directly inspired by artifacts and artwork from the Heritage Transport Museum's collection.
